I’m the best screenwriter in Los Angeles. I can say this with confidence because I just won an award confirming this through a screenwriting contest, but I entered it last fall when I wasn’t sure if I was going to win. I was feeling shaken and confused because I’d not heard from them in quite a long time. In fact I had given up all hope of becoming the winner and I was deciding to return home to get a more practical job. But then my phone rang and it was the director of the contest. He told me that I had submitted the best script that they had seen in almost 10 years and I was an incredible talent in screenwriting. Immediately all of my feelings changed. I was happy. I was elated and I felt confident in my abilities to succeed as a screenwriter in Hollywood. I really needed this pick me up and I feel great about it right now.
